H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team Finale : Real Test of Skills and Finesse

The 2013 H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team took on the Realmadrid Foundation Technical Academy (RMFTA) in a Grand Finale Match on Tuesday in an entertaining encounter that saw plenty of action and nifty footwork on display.

Both teams were tied at 0-0 after regulation time that saw the match go into a penalty shoot-out. The H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team eventually won the shoot-out with a final score of 10-9 , a result that reflects the potential of this budding team to match stronger and quality opponents.

The 2013 H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team which is also currently the third batch has been training together since last May, and has taken part in a series of friendly matches against various Malaysian clubs such as 2013 Malacca League Champions Syarikat Air Malaka Berhad, Demaja Soujana FC Malacca Under-23 Team, and Port Dickson District Champions, Majilis Perbandaran P.D in January this year.

Following the finale match tonight against RMFTA, the top performing boys will be identified to join the Under-18 Teams with Home United FC, Warriors FC or Balestier Khalsa FC ; as well as the various football clubs in the National Football League.

Sankara Narayanan S/O Elanko is the proud recipient of the Most Valuable Player award for tonight. He will be embarking on a five-day, all expenses paid trip to Real Madrid to watch a Real Madrid home game which is sponsored by Realmadrid Foundation Technical Academy Singapore.

Yeo’s Vice-President for Marketing, Ms May Ngiam is pleased with the victory of the H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team in tonight’s match as well as the positive impact on and transformation of the boys involved and has once again affirmed the company’s interest and support for the program in the coming year.

She said: “ Congratulations to the boys and our deepest appreciation to the dedicated coaches, staff and management of ITE who have worked tirelessly to make this collaboration possible and a success.  At Yeo’s, we want to promote the development of local football and we are committed to create an equal opportunity for players from all backgrounds to pursue their passion and dreams in this sport.

“The boys have shown tonight that with the right attitude, guidance and self-belief, dreams can indeed be fulfilled and we are extremely pleased to be able to provide these young players with the platform to develop their talent and contribute to Singapore football. We are confident that these boys will proceed to achieve even greater success and we look forward to unearth many more talents like them in the years to come.”

Dr Ang Kiam Wee, Principal, ITE College Central, is heartened by the exciting development. He shared, “It is very encouraging to see many of our Dream Team alumni developing their talent and interest in soccer, some with our local clubs. In fact, three of them have been selected as part of the Lions XII team, which speaks of the success of this programme.”

Mr Tan Seng Hua, ITE’s Deputy CEO (Academic) has been actively involved in the development of football initiatives at ITE. He said, “There are many youths in ITE who possess interest and talent in soccer. I’m glad that the Dream Team programme has given our youths an excellent platform to develop and showcase their skills.”
