Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League club Albirex Niigata (S) will be holding the first ever ‘Pokemon Day’ in Singapore, together with Maxsoft Private Limited.

The event will be held in conjunction with Albirex’s 25th S.League game this season, on 24 October when the Japanese lock horns with Home United at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Pokemon followers can look forward to a fun-filled night, with free giveaways of merchandise as well as sales of Pokemon Centre exclusive merchandise being organised.

Organisers are sparing no expense to make this Pokemon extravaganza affair successful, with a shiny limited edition Gengar with Mega Stone distribution for Pokemon X/Y up for grabs.

Pokemon’s main character Pikachu would be gracing the event by making a special appearance at the opening ceremony before the game kicks off, while fans are allowed to indulge in photo-taking sessions with the character at half-time.

Albirex chairman Daisuke Korenaga hopes to receive a positive response from the event as he shared his thoughts, and urged fans to come on down to support the event as well as the team.

“I am very pleased to hold the very first Pokemon Day in conjunction with S League’s 25th leg, the match between Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) and Home United FC,” Korenaga mentioned.

“The popular character, Pikachu, is coming for this event to support Albirex. Please visit Jalan Besar Stadium with your friends. Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) will continue to hold various events so that everyone can enjoy our home games.”
