Football Extravaganza: The 2014 RHB Singapore Cup & FA Cup Final on 7 November 2014

SINGAPORE, 6 November 2014: Local football fans will be in for a double treat at Jalan Besar Stadium tomorrow as there will be not one but two Cup finals being held on the same evening.

The RHB Singapore Cup 2014 Final will be played on Friday, 7 November, at 8pm, and will see defending champion Home United FC taking on Balestier Khalsa FC. The two clubs have met thrice this season in the S.League with Home winning two encounters (2-1 and 1-0) and Balestier triumphing 3-0 on home ground in June.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam is the Guest-of-Honour for the occasion, and he will be witnessing history being made either way as Balestier are making their maiden RHB Singapore Cup final appearance, while Home United are aiming to become the first S.League club to lift the shining trophy seven times.

Balestier will also be hoping to make it a double victory at JBS as their Prime League team will be featuring in the Singapore Pools FA Cup 2014 Final at 5.30pm, against Singapore Recreation Club of the National Football League (NFL) Division 1.

Apart from fast and exciting football action, S.League fans will also be in for a musical treat tomorrow. Popular local duo Jack & Rai will be performing a selection of songs before the RHB Singapore Cup final, and there will also be performances by the S.League mascots, who have been a hit with football fans and the public this year, as well as the ITE College West Percussion Band.

Three lucky draws featuring prizes worth more than S$15,000 will be held throughout the night. Apart from iPhone 6s, iPad minis, laptop and cameras, the S.League will also be giving away 5 AFF Suzuki Cup ticket packages to Singapore’s three home matches at the National Stadium.
