The elegant centre-back, who turned 38 on Monday, has amassed over 200 appearances in the Singapore Premier League and last represented Tampines Rovers last year – the fourth club in his storied league career.

After bursting onto the scene in 2003 and winning the S.LEAGUE Young Player of the Year award the same season, Baihakki would go on to play for the Young Lions, Warriors FC and Tampines. The National Football Academy graduated also spent a significant chunk of his playing career overseas in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Baihakki blossomed into one of Singapore’s best ever and retires on 140 caps, making him the second-most capped Lion ever. During his international career, he won three ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship titles and scored five goals.

An inspiration and role model to many of his peers and the younger generation, Baihakki leaves behind a legacy that few others can match.

From all of us at the SPL – happy retirement, Bai!
