Hougang United vs Tanjong Pagar United

(October 29, Wednesday, 7.30pm, Hougang Stadium)

An in-form Tanjong Pagar United will travel to Hougang Stadium in great spirits for their battle with Hougang United in both teams’ final Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League 2014 game.

Hougang United thrashed Geylang International 4-0 few days ago to secure their seventh place while Tanjong Pagar thumped Harimau Muda 5-0 to make it three wins in a row.

The Jaguars are currently sitting in ninth place and may end the season in eighth place if they manage to win the Cheetahs by at least four goals.

That will allow them to leapfrog Geylang International, who are three points ahead of Tanjong Pagar and.have already finished their season

Having had a season they want to forget as they have been languishing in the bottom half for most parts of the year, the Jaguars would at least aim to end the season on a winning note.

As for Hougang, it remains to be seen which side of them turns up though, the one which staked a claim for the title in the earlier parts of the season, or the one which faltered towards the end and failed to secure a spot in the top-half.

Suspension: Fazli Jaffar (Hougang United)

Key Men To Watch

Hougang United: Geison Moura

The top-scorer award may be far from his reach, but Moura would be looking to at least bag one goal to increase his goal tally to a commendable 20.

His telepathic understanding with fellow strike-partner Diego Gama has been impressive throughout this season, as the duo has combined to produce two-third of the 45 goals Hougang has scored so far.

According to InStat, 92% of his passes were accurate in the game against Courts Young Lions, thus expect him to create something out of nothing when involved in build-up plays.

Tanjong Pagar United: Sebastien Etiemble

The Frenchman’s performance throughout this season has been astounding, taking into account his defending and attacking abilities.

Expect him to end his debut S.League season with another decent performance, supporting Monsef Zerka in attack and dropping back to help in defence whenever needed.
