Two teams which have already secured quarter-final berths lock horns at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Tuesday evening in the final game of Group D.

Warriors FC and Geylang International have knocked S.League title-chasers Tampines Rovers out of the competition, after their respective 3-2 and 2-1 victories over the Stags.

Despite having confirmed qualification, it may not be enough for the two sides, as they would be keen to bid farewell to the group stage with a 100% record.

If the game ends in a draw, Warriors would be placed on top of the table even though goal-difference would be unable to separate both teams, as Warriors would be relishing a superior number of goals scored.

The team which emerges in top spot would be facing Group A’s runners-up Albirex Niigata (S) in the quarter-finals, while the second placed team would be facing the leaders Tanjong Pagar United.

Both the Warriors and the Eagles do possess a productive frontline, with Agu Casmir and Leonel Felice leading the attack respectively.

Leonel Felice bagged the winner for his side in the win against Tampines, while Agu remarkably claimed a hat-trick in the tensed encounter with the Eastern side.

The Eagles’ coach, Jorg Steinebrunner, has faith in his charges prior to the game especially after the recent 2-1 win over Tampines as he said, “Definitely the win would give them more confidence and I think the boys know what it takes now to put in the such kind of performance to get a result.”
