SINGAPORE, 25 OCTOBER 2021 – Balestier Khalsa have unveiled Akbar Nawas as the new man to take them forward.

The Singapore Premier League (SPL) side announced on last Friday the appointment of the 45-year-old Singaporean as the successor to Marko Kraljevic, who had left a week earlier.

It marks a return to the SPL for Akbar, who was head coach of Tampines Rovers in 2016 before leading Global Cebu in the Philippines Football League in 2017. Thereafter, he took charge of I-League side Chennai City and led them to the 2018/19 title.

According to a club statement, Akbar has penned a two-year contract “worth more than S$170,000”.
