Geylang part ways with Greek midfielder Panagiotis Linardos

SINGAPORE, 5 AUGUST 2020 – Geylang International confirmed earlier today the departure of playmaker Panagiotis Linardos.

The 28-year-old left the Singapore Premier League (SPL) side by mutual consent with two league appearances under his belt, having signed for the Eagles in January.

On their social media channels, Head Coach Mohd Noor Ali said, “Panos has been a model professional since day one with a fantastic personality. It’s not easy for him during this period of uncertainty and we respect his decision.”

The midfielder turned out for Greek second-tier side Panachaiki prior to his move to Singapore, having plied his trade with numerous other Greek clubs earlier on in his career, as well as a stint in Cyprus.

Linardos’ departure is the second of this mid-season transfer window, following Lion City Sailors’ decision to do likewise with Andrew Pengelly last month.
