Inclement weather forces abandonment of SPL fixture between Tanjong Pagar United and Young Lions

Joel Chew of Young Lions evades a challenge from Anaqi Ismit of Tanjong Pagar United, 8 May 2021

SINGAPORE, 8 MAY 2021 – Due to inclement weather, the 2021 AIA Singapore Premier League match between Tanjong Pagar United and the Young Lions that took place earlier tonight has been abandoned.

Close to 62 minutes of the match at Jurong East Stadium had been played, with the score at 1-1, before the Lightning Warning System (LWS) alert came on and halted proceedings. As per the league’s Standard Operating Protocols during the fasting month, a 30-minute waiting period was observed; unfortunately, the LWS was still active after that and as a result, this match will be replayed in full at a later date.

Details of the rescheduled fixture will be announced in due course.
