The 23-year-old Japanese defender joins from the Lion City Sailors and will reinforce a defence that kept just one clean sheet in 14 league games last season.

Yamazaki, who primarily operates at centre-back but is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, arrived in Singapore with Albirex Niigata (S) in 2018 and made 15 appearances as they won the SPL that year. He then played all 24 matches for Albirex the following season before joining the Sailors last year, where he featured in all but one of their 14 league games. The Chiba native also offers a goal threat, having netted five times in the league.
