18 MAY 2022 – Tampines Rovers will play their two matches in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2022™ group stage on 27 and 30 June.

The AFC confirmed earlier today the schedule for Group H, which will be held in the centralised venue of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Stags were drawn with Malaysia Cup winners Kuala Lumpur City, Indonesia’s PSM Makassar and either Shan United or Ayewady United from Myanmar, but the subsequent withdrawal of Myanmar’s clubs means they will only have two group fixtures to fulfil.

Tampines, who are set to make their 12th appearance at Asia’s second-tier club competition, will face Makassar on Monday, 27 June and then KL City on 30 June, as part of a single round-robin format.

Singapore’s other representative, Hougang United, will face V.League 1 runners up Viettel, Cambodian champions Phnom Penh Crown and the Young Elephants, also of Cambodia. Ho Chi Minh City will serve as the centralised venue for the Cheetahs’ second appearance at the tournament and they will play Phnom Penh Crown on 24 June, followed by the Young Elephants 27 June and Viettel on 30 June.

Both groups are part of the ASEAN Zone, along with Group J. The three group winners, along with the best runner-up, will advance to the zonal semi-finals.
