24 FEBRUARY 2022 – Tampines Rovers will make the short trip across the Causeway this June to play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2022™ group stage.

The AFC confirmed earlier today that Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will serve as the centralised venue for Group H, which comprises the Stags, Malaysia Cup winners Kuala Lumpur City, Indonesia’s PSM Makassar and either Shan United or Ayewady United from Myanmar.

Tampines are set to make their 12th appearance at Asia’s second-tier club competition and matches will be played in a single round-robin format between 24 June and 30 June.

Singapore’s other representative, Hougang United, will have to wait a little longer to find out their centralised venue, which the AFC stated will be decided in “due course”. The Cheetahs will face V.League 1 runners up Viettel, Cambodian champions Phnom Penh Crown and Myanmar’s Hantharwady United in Group I.

Both groups are part of the ASEAN Zone, along with Group J. The three group winners, along with the best runner-up, will advance to the zonal semi-finals.
