Tampines to play Hougang in 2020 AIA Community Shield

18 FEBRUARY 2020 – This season’s AIA Community Shield will be played between Tampines Rovers and Hougang United after to the unavailability of Brunei DPMM.

The season-opening fixture will go ahead as scheduled on 22 February at Jalan Besar Stadium between Tampines, last season’s Komoco Motors Singapore Cup champion and Hougang, who finished third in the Singapore Premier League (SPL). The Cheetahs take the place of league winners DPMM, who had yesterday notified the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) of its precautionary travel restrictions in the light of the current COVID-19 situation.

The Stags are looking to win the Shield for a fifth time, while their opponents will play the fixture for the first time.

Fans may purchase tickets from tomorrow (19 February 2020) at http://www.fas.org.sg/tickets/ or at Jalan Besar Stadium on match day from 3pm onwards. Please note that mandatory temperature checks will be conducted prior to entry to the stadium as part of the FAS’s precautionary measures and protocols for the public.
