Wasps Look To Continue Good Form Against Young Lions

Brunei DPMM vs Garena Young Lions
(Monday, 26 September, 8.15pm, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium)

After their convincing 3-1 victory over Home United last week, Brunei DPMM will aim to make it four wins in a row when they take on Garena Young Lions at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium on Monday night.

The Wasps can cut second-placed Tampines Rovers’ lead to two points as they look to finish as high as possible and salvage a season where they were supposed to defend their Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League title.

However, fatigue may creep into DPMM’s players as they played the Protectors just three days ago, but with key players Paulo Sergio and Azwan Ali being withdrawn by coach Steve Kean after almost an hour and 70 minutes of action respectively, they might just edge the game against Young Lions.

Meanwhile, the Young Lions have only pride left to play for with only two games in the season left and are a sure bet to finish at the foot of the S.League table.

A good result against Hougang United last Friday would have given them a chance of catching up with Balestier Khalsa, but despite putting in a gritty performance, the Young Lions fell 2-0 to the Cheetahs in the end.

While they manage to achieve an unlikely 1-1 draw against the Wasps earlier in the season, it will be a different prospect facing the visitors altogether on Monday night as their hosts are currently on a five-game unbeaten run.

Both sides have no major injury concerns and suspension to worry about, so they can call upon their all their members in their squad.
