Three teams are on the run for the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League crown, including Miroslav Pejic’s Warriors FC.

The club which has won the title the most number of times is currently leading at the top of the table, but their stay may not last.

With 50 points and one more game to go (against fellow title-chasers Albirex Niigata (S)), their closest competitors Brunei DPMM are on second place with 47 points and two remaining games.

DPMM were held to a 1-1 draw against Balestier Khalsa on Saturday and the result bodes well with Warriors aspiration of putting their hands on the league trophy.

The asset to the Choa Chu Kang based side, Pejic, has been getting into scoresheets in crucial games of the ‘half-round’.

He scored Warriors’ second goal in the 3-2 win over Home United, before bagging the crucial winner ten minutes from time to award his side a 2-1 win over Tampines Rovers.

The two victories also knocked the opponents out of the title race, and Pejic is happy with the way he and his teammates have been approaching these important games.

“We have had the spirit for the whole season,” Pejic shared, before speaking about their win over Tampines.

“It is positive all the time. Today we played well and did not rush things. We were good in defence and it was an excellent victory.”

The Croatian is also eyeing the league triumph after looking at his team’s fine form.

“We scored amazing goals in the last three games and we just do not know which goal is the best,” the forward chided.

“We do have a psychological advantage looking at the standings. DPMM are playing three games in six days, it would be hard for them and we believe that they are going to produce some results in our favour.”
