Ceres La Salle vs Brunei DPMM

(Sunday, 3 July, 8pm, Jalan Besar Stadium)

United Football League defending champions Ceres La Salle will be keen to continue their winning run in their first-ever RHB Singapore Cup campaign when they take on Brunei DPMM in the second-leg of the quarter-finals on Sunday night at Jalan Besar Stadium.

The Busmen defeated Garena Young Lions in the preliminary round to reach the quarter-finals, and after a 3-0 victory over the Wasps in the first-leg, they are 90 minutes away from making the semi-finals where a meeting with Tampines Rovers awaits.

However, Ceres will first need to avoid complacency against the Wasps, as well as conceding early to secure their passage. They will also look to frustrate DPMM, who will most definitely adopt an attacking approach.

The Philippines side will miss the services of three key players in the likes of Manuel Ott after the German-born Filipino was sent off in the first-leg for a brush-up with Rafael Ramazotti, while winger Patrick Reichelt and Carlos De Murga are also suspended.

Stephen Shrock looks set to continue his imperious form for Ceres, after netting a brace against the Bruneians and is someone that Wasps have to stop if they want to win this tie.

As for DPMM, while they were shambolic in the first-half against Ceres, their second-half performance where they created decent chances will give them a glimmer of hope that the tie is still alive for them.

The Wasps will also be boosted by the return of Paulo Sergio, whom they sorely missed in the attacking third against Ceres, as the Portuguese was suspended in that game.
