Courts Young Lions Buoyed By Support

Courts Young Lions were thankful to their 12th man after coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Geylang International on Friday evening.

A partisan crowd of 2,177 turned up for the Courts Young Lions’ final home game of the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League on Friday evening at Jalan Besar Stadium and they didn’t leave disappointed.

The hosts were two goals down with less than 30 minutes to go, but with the loud cheers and encouragement of the crowd behind them, they stormed back to earn a point.

“We are really happy to play in front of more than 2,000 people tonight,” said captain Syazwan Buhari.

“This is our last home match of the season and we would like to thank FAS (Football Association of Singapore), our fans and sponsors for their strong support. It is amazing to play for one of the most supported clubs in the S.League – even though we are a developmental team.

“We are a young team and have become better and stronger players by playing regularly in a professional league.

“We are now better than a year ago because of the CYL (Courts Young Lions) and the developmental pathway put in place for us.

“A special thank you to the fans who watch us regularly in action and also those who send us well wishes and words of encouragement throughout the year.”
