Brunei DPMM vs Home United
(Saturday, 17 October, 8:15pm, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium)
Brunei DPMM will face a tough challenge in Home United as they try to pull away from the rest of the title contenders.
The current league leaders have a slim two-point lead over second-placed Balestier Khalsa, but have two games in hand.
DPMM have the destiny of the title in their own hands. However, complacency may cost them dear, like what happened last season when they failed to win their last few matches and handed the title to Warriors FC.
Against Home United though, they will face a team that have posed them a number of problems on the pitch.
While the Bruneians won 3-2 recently in the RHB Singapore Cup Semi-Finals, both sides have battled to two consecutive draws this year in the league.
Home coach Philippe Aw believes that the Protectors are capable of triumphing against the Wasps.
“We all knew we shouldn’t have lost 3-2 in the last game,” Aw said.
“We were disappointed in the end that the goals we conceded were gifts but we just didn’t carry the instruction to plan.
“Despite that 3-2 defeat, we were very positive and we are confident to go to Brunei… we can’t commit silly mistakes anymore.”
The Protectors will continue to miss Sirina Camara however, who continues to serve his four-game suspension for a disciplinary case.
But with Ken Ilso finding his form back, Home have a high chance of causing an upset here, especially so when Ilso has already found the net twice in Brunei back in March.

Key Men to Watch
Brunei DPMM: Rosmin Kamis
The DPMM captain’s experience will be vital in such a huge game. With Brunei keen to avoid last season’s meltdown, Rosmin must guide his younger teammates and direct them.
He has also proved that he has a knack for scoring important goals, so do not count against him from popping up inside the box to put the ball into the net.
Home United: Ambroise Begue
Ken Ilso may be scoring the goals, but the services have to come from somewhere. In Begue, Home United have a winger with the penchant for providing accurate cross down the byline.
While the young winger struggled to settle in new environment in the first part of the season, he has been on fire in the second part.
Against DPMM, a top performance from Begue will go a long way in helping Home to secure three points.
