SINGAPORE, 15 FEBRUARY 2019 – As you snuggled with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day, our clubs will also couple up under the shared stadiums initiative for the 2019 Singapore Premier League (SPL) season.

As part of the nation’s Sports Facilities Master Plan (SFMP) to provide greater access to sports facilities and enable wider participation, the eight locally-based SPL clubs will share stadiums on all match days from 2019 onwards.

  • Bishan Stadium: Home United and Balestier Khalsa
  • Jalan Besar Stadium: Young Lions and Hougang United
  • Jurong East Stadium: Albirex Niigata (S) and Warriors FC
  • Our Tampines Hub: Tampines Rovers and Geylang International

BETTER AND LOVING IT
Renovations at Bishan, Jalan Besar and Jurong East have begun since early January to upgrade the existing facilities and equip the venues with the latest hardware.

Fans can expect a better matchday experience, starting with with the bucket seats that will  be installed at all three stadiums. With LED boards installed along the perimeter of the fields and Jumbotrons measuring 9.6m by 5.7m for all stadiums, clubs will also be able to leverage on the latest technology for increased fan engagement during the match. That is a screen that measures almost two and a half storeys!

The sound systems at the three stadiums will also be upgraded. Every stadium will get a Behringer X32 Producer for sound mixing and brand new D.A.S. speakers to get the fans pumped up ahead of the excitement on the pitch.

LED banners and screens will also be installed outside stadiums so that clubs can keep fans updated on upcoming fixtures, events and even profile players via out-of-home advertising.

The upgrades to the stadiums will be debuted at the 2019 Community Shield between Albirex Niigata (S) and Home United at Jalan Besar Stadium on 23 February. Fans can apply for their tickets at www.fas.org.sg/tickets.
