Tampines Rovers vs Harimau Muda

(Tuesday, 15 September, 7.30pm, Jalan Besar Stadium)

Tampines Rovers will be aiming for victory over Harimau Muda when they take on the Malaysians at Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday night.

In the reverse fixture less than a month ago, the Stags laboured to a 1-0 over the Young Tigers at Hang Jebat Stadium, courtesy of a Rodrigo Tosi strike 16 minutes from time.

The win allowed Tampines to return to winning ways while Harimau Muda were left with their fourth defeat in five matches.

The Young Tigers had their chances in that game and could have almost forced a draw if the referee had given a penalty after it looked like Stags custodian Rodrigo Pacheco had seemingly taken out Annas Rahmat in the 18-yard box.

With an opportunity now to avenge the defeat, Razip Ismail will be looking ensure that his charges keep their temperament in check and convert all their chances in front of goal.

Key players like Faizat Ghazali, Adam Nor, Wan Ahmad Amirzafran will be available for this match after missing the previous match against Tampines due to suspensions.

A victory for V.Sundramoorthy’s side will see them cement their place in the top five of the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League table while three points for the Young Tigers will see them stay out of the bottom three.

Key Men to Watch

Tampines Rovers: Shaiful Esah

The veteran player might have lost some of his pace which made him famous over the years on the flanks, but he is still a force to be reckoned with his cultured left foot.

With another tight game being predicted between both sides, a set-piece from Shaiful can go a long way in making a big difference in the match.

Harimau Muda: Adam Nor

The winger’s trickery and playmaking abilities were sorely missed by the Young Tigers in the loss against Tampines as they struggled to find the creative spark.

Now that the 19-year-old has served out his suspension, expect Razip to unleash Adam against the Stags to break down their defence.
