Fresh off the most successful campaign in their nascent five-year history, the Lion City Sailors are primed to make waves once again in the 2025/26 season.
The Sailors captured the Community Shield, Singapore Premier League (SPL), and Singapore Cup last season, marking the first domestic clean sweep since Albirex Niigata (S)’s feat in 2018. They romped to their second league title with 22 wins in 32 games, finishing eight points ahead of BG Tampines Rovers.
As part of their continued push for excellence, the Sailors have maintained the bulk of their title-winning squad, while bolstering it with a host of star acquisitions. This includes the likes of marquee forward Anderson Lopes from Japanese outfit Yokohama F. Marinos, a two-time J1 League top scorer, who plundered a total of 99 goals in 214 appearances in the Japanese top tier.

Lion City Sailors were established in 2020 as Singapore’s first privatised football club, backed by tech giant Sea Group. Their mission is to elevate Singapore football to continental standards through professional management, elite player development, and strategic investments. The club has built a state-of-the-art training facility and academy, and consistently attracts top-tier talent both locally and internationally. Their philosophy blends data-driven performance analysis with a commitment to nurturing young Singaporean players, positioning them as a modern football powerhouse. In just a few seasons, the Sailors have become one of the most successful clubs in the SPL. They won the Singapore Premier League in 2021 and 2024/25, and completed a domestic treble in 2024/25 by also clinching the Singapore Cup and Community Shield. With marquee signings like Anderson Lopes and Tsiy Ndenge, and a strong local core led by Hariss Harun, the Sailors are not only defending champions but also contenders in international competitions like the AFC Champions League Two and ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) Shopee Cup.
