Brunei DPMM vs Geylang International FC
(Saturday, 20 February, 7.30pm, Bedok Stadium)

Defending champions Brunei DPMM FC will be looking to put their dismal start to the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League 2016 season behind them when they visit Geylang International on Saturday night at Bedok Stadium.

DPMM looked like a shadow of themselves in the opening game of the season against Albirex Niigata (S), as they allowed the White Swans to seize control of the match and was simply outclassed throughout the game.

Despite that, 2015 Young Player of the Year Azwan Ali was a glowing gem in the middle of the park.

He managed to score a goal and was unlucky not to add to his tally when his free-kick hit the post twice. If he can keep up his performance in the opening game, he will surely be a menace for the Eagles.

In contrast, the Eagles made a plausible start to the season as they held nine-men Tampines Rovers to a respectable 3-3 draw. Stanely Ng had an impressive game as he came off the bench to score a goal against the mighty Tampines Rovers.

Geylang will welcome back veteran defender Daniel Bennett, but will continue to miss defensive midfielder Isa Halim through, while DPMM will welcome the return of their captain Rosmin Kamis from suspension as well.

The injury that Sahil Suhaimi picked up against Tampines has been deemed not serious, but he is doubt to start the game, with Gabriel Quak looking to come in for the winger.

Suspensions: Isa Halim (Geylang International)

Brunei DPMM FC: Paulo Sergio

Key Man to Watch

Sergio was able to show a glimpse of offensive threat in the first game of the season. Geylang will have to look out for the nifty forward as his trickery is key to unlocking the game.

Besides creating chances, Sergio is a proven goal scorer as he netted 13 goals in the championship winning campaign last year.

If Sergio is able to rediscover his scoring touch, Geylang will be kept busy throughout the night.

Geylang International FC: Carlos Delgado

A constant menace with his dribbling skills and craftiness, Delgado stunned Tampines with a ferocious piledriver from the edge of the box to help Geylang pull level.

Although the 30-year-old Argentinian midfielder is not known for scoring many goals, he will surely make DPMM pay if they let their guards down.
