Brunei DPMM vs Geylang International
(Saturday, 30 April, 8.15pm, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium)

Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League defending champions Brunei DPMM will host Geylang International on Saturday night at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, looking for all three points against the Eagles this time round.

The first meeting between both sides earlier in the season saw the Wasps and the Eagles sharing the spoils at Bedok Stadium after the match ended 1-1, with Sahil Suhaimi opening the scoring for the hosts before Rafael Ramazotti restored parity for the visitors minutes later.

The Wasps are also looking to bounce back after suffering a 2-1 defeat to current league leaders Albirex Niigata (S) last week at home and will be keen to take advantage of the Eagles’ five-game winless run.

DPMM will be boosted by the return of Paulo Sergio, after the Portuguese sat out the loss to the White Swans because of suspension, but will be without the services of Sairol Sahari, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament during a training session and will be out for the rest of the season.

As for the Eagles, Sahil might make a return to the starting line after missing the loss to the Stags because of a niggling ankle injury. The rest of the squad are injury-free and ready for selection.

Brunei DPMM: Paulo Sergio

 

The Portuguese missed his side’s defeat to the White Swans last week and will be keen to help the Wasps get back to winning ways.

His presence on the field will be a huge boost to the defending champions, who will need Sergio’s dribbling and speed to unlock the Eagles’ defence.

Geylang International: Amy Recha

 

The nippy striker is a handful for defenders and is capable of hitting dangerous long-range shots, as well as being in the right place and the right time to finish off chances.

DPMM will do well to close down Amy at the earliest opportunity in order not to let him hurt their chances of attaining three points.
